Matthew started working at the family business at the age of 8, sweeping the floor and cleaning machinery for $5.00 a Saturday. Later, he began working in the shop as a summer intern learning the ropes. In addition to learning the technical trade aspects of the job, he credits much of his customer service and business development skills to the lessons he learned working with his father and grandfather. Matthew began working full time for the company in 2004. Since that time, the once mom and pop business has grown 70 times over, to 100 team members with a national reach. Brian Merkley joined our organization as the first General Manager of one of our business units, Nix Coatings. Brian has a degree from Indiana State University in construction management, and prior work experience in operations management. Today, Brian leads the coatings operations. From scheduling, to staffing, to maintenance, Brian keeps our facilities running, our customers happy, and our reputation soundly growing.

Adam Schmitt joined the organization as the first sales person in the company history. Adam has been instrumental in the company's growth and evolution. Adam's ability to see outside the box, his knack for product development, and his customer relationship skills are of great value. Brandon joined our company in 2015 to manage our newly acquired Nix Equipment. Brandon was instrumental in development of processes and procedures, integration, and provided the necessary leadership to move this new division ahead. With the ‘newness' now stabilized, Brandon is able to focus efforts in his new role across all Nix Companies' entities. In his operations role he is able to leverage his degree in industrial technology and industrial distribution from Purdue University and his decade plus experience in a similar business, to develop and lead our growing company's needs in areas such as safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvements.

Human Resources Manager
Angela Kirlin joined the company in 2018 as the Human Resources Manager. Angela graduated from Indiana State University with degrees in both Business Management and Administration as well as obtained her Master’s Degree in Human Resources Training and Development. Angela began her career after college with Cintas as a Management Trainee. From that position she then went on to be the Human Resources Manager of the Louisville and Elizabethtown districts. Angela brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her time at Cintas that will serve her well in her new role at Nix Companies.
Donna has over 25 years' experience in accounting and office management. Donna was previously employed with Tri-County Equipment of Poseyville, Indiana for 20 years until the acquisition by Nix Equipment in January 2015. Donna has a vast product and industry knowledge base in the equipment business and we are confident in her ability to quickly grow and assist in other areas of the Nix organization as she will be handling Accounts Receivables and Payables for all three of the Nix Companies.
Michele joined Nix Companies in 2019 as an accountant. She is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in Accounting and a minor in Computer Information Systems. Michele brings great experience from her previous roles in accounts receivables, sales and cost of sales and cash management. She is currently managing the accounts payable, inventory and capital assets for Nix Companies.

Cole joined Nix in January of 2020. He graduated from the University of Evansville with a B.S. in Professional Chemistry and the University of Arkansas with a M.S. in Operations Management. Cole's experience with continuous improvement from previous roles in production and inventory planning brings strong skills that will help Nix continue to improve.

Eric joined Nix in February 2020 as the IT & Data Manager. Eric graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in Computer Information Systems and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his time with his previous role at Frontier Kemper and Tutor Perini that will serve him well in his new role at Nix Companies.
Corporate Sales Manager
Kyle Attebury joined the Nix team in July of 2020 as the Corporate Sales Manager. Kyle graduated from Oakland City University with a degree in Business Management. Kyle has over a decade of outside sales experience. His background comes from the plastics industry where he was tasked to develop and grow new territories and products by finding/providing solutions for customers. Kyle will be growing the Louisville, Lexington, and Cincinnati markets and supporting the Nix sales team.

Lindsey Nix joined the company in 2012 to help support marketing, Human Resources, and accounting efforts. Today her role has evolved to primarily growing various markets of our company through sales and marketing. Lindsey graduated from Indiana University with a business management degree. Her well rounded skills and experience make her an extremely valuable to help guide our company as we continue to grow and evolve.

Corey Wilzbacher joined our team in 2016 to lead our sales and customer service efforts in one of the growing sectors of our business. Corey's decade plus experience working with heavy industrial and manufacturing clients as a power transmission supply distributor allows him a great foundation to now offer our clients a completely turnkey solution. From simple parts replacements and maintenance jobs, to complex mechanical and automated machinery builds, Cory has earned a reputation with his customers as the "problem solver".
Market Development Specialist
Mandy joined Nix Companies in August of 2018. Mandy came with 15 years experience in sales and market development. Mandy obtained her Bachelors Degree from the Indiana Kelley School of Business. Mandy will be serving our customers in the Indianapolis market. With Mandy's previous experience, we are sure she will add great value to the company.
Matt joined Nix in July of 2019. Matt has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Indiana. He has 10 years experience in business development, sales & marketing for heavy industrial companies in electrical, mechanical and communications focused in the mining, power generation markets. Matt comes to Nix with practical in the field experience with industrial solutions problem solving and coordination of onsite installations. Matt directed business development efforts at Heritage for 1 + yrs before the acquisition to Nix Companies.
Account Manager - Heavy Industrial
Mike joined our team in April of 2019 to help build relationships with our heavy industrial partners. Mike brings a wealth of knowledge with him due to the 32 years he spent with Duke Energy where he held titles such as: Heavy Equipment Operator, Fabricator, Welder, Mechanic, First Responder, Fire Brigade, Supervisor, and Contractor Liaison. While at Duke, he built more than his career, he built relationships with people. His leadership experience and excellent safety record make him the ideal fit for the Nix family. Mike also holds a residential contractor’s license in Indiana which allows him to help others.
Casey joined Nix Companies in July of 2019. Casey came from the marketing agency world where he worked with multiple clients creating video, web, and social media content. Casey obtained his Bachelors degree from the University of Southern Indiana. He currently creates Nix marketing material including print, video, social, and website management.

Ashley joined Nix Companies in October of 2019. Ashley has a background in Operations Management and 6+ years of management experience. With skills in customer service and management, and a Bachelors degree from the University of Southern Indiana, she brings a detailed-oriented mind to our inside sales process. She is currently responsible for the facilitation of inbound sales leads, enhancing the sales process, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
